The problem was a person who was buying a whole years worth of drugs (I think Propecia or Viagra, or one of the other popular non-critical drugs), so the Mexicans got him for "running" drugs since they claimed he was purchasing for resale. This was not a stop by US Customs.

Actually I think it was a case of failure to pay Mordida (bribes) when stopped by the federales. Mexico is very much a foreign country, and though politically incorrect to say so, its government is (IMHO) a corrupt single-party dictatorship. Bad things can, and DO happen there, but not often when compared to the number of Gringos that cross over every day.

I've never heard of anyone getting popped for bringing back antibiotics for personal use, though technically you are supposed to have a prescription.

The drug that Ron is referring to is Fasigyn (Generic name:  tinidizole) and is a cheap, effective antibiotic that works much better than Flagyl, the normal treatment in the USA.
