One should not assume that the challenges and consequences of Plan A are
more or less valuable than the equivalent of Plan B, whichever is which.
Some people thruhike, some plan to conquer the world, and some scheme to end
world poverty.
For me, I don't WISH I could thruhike, I COULD thruhike. Nothing is stopping
me other than my love for my wife and son -- and my present life. For me,
trying to catch Bill Gates [who is simply leading. no one has conceded
victory] is more interesting than the PCT. For a missionary, neither is
important at all. However, IF YOU ARE DISSATISFIED with your present life,
the almost unanimous testimony of thruhikers is --take a hike--it'll change.
