Re: [pct-l] bears and food

Yes a member of this list was hassled because he/she stored food in his/her
tent. Both Brick and I talked to him/her. I am keeping the name
confidential because I agreed to do so. I only know of three documented
instances:
1-In center basin [the food was in the pack in the tent]-source NPS
2-At Vidette Meadows [the hiker tried to stop the bear from getting the
food]-source NPS
3-At 1000 Island Lakes [a bear crashed a tent. There was no food other than
crumbs ]-source NPS and a friend who talked to the backpacker

Does this give you a first hand account? No, but you could be convected of
murder on such evidence [if you weren't OJ ((: ]
