[pct-l] Iodine Tablets and Esbit Stoves

Have just come back from a great wilderness experience in the Sawtooth Mtns
in Idaho.
I am now convinced I have to get my pack weight reduced.

Has anyone used the iodine tablets for a period of 6 or 7 days and what if
any are the ill effects.
Also want to know about the Esbit stoves with fuel tablets, anyone used
these for 6 or 7 day periods?  What are the disadvantages.
