Re: [pct-l] Fwd: Yosemite News

It appears that the aluminum canister fails when one end is not packed
leaving some space between the food and the end. On our recent trip my
extended canister had 24 pounds in it [weight=26.5 pounds total]. I
withdrew a package of tortillas. This left a 1/2" gap between the food ant
the endcap. When my son dropped it on the groung two (2) rivets broke. At
this point a determined bear could get into the canister. In my case no
bear showed up. This was a new can. My son dropped it less than 6 inches.
