In August it usually doesn't rain much. I use a lightweight [8 oz] nylon
jacket and have bben fine. MTR is 4/5 miles from the end of Florence Lake
where a boat taxi ($15) will take you to a roadend and a small store. They
have a small store at JMT but I don't know about fuel. I think yes but am
not sure
