What a terrific trip journal, Brian! Your Dad sounds like a peach ; my
kind of hiker (47 cents? I'm impressed, the most I ever found was a
quarter <LOL>) He really conveys the flavor of the '99 trail and the
hiking experience itself - a real adventure: thumbs up!

I kept re-reading the dates in amazement; when he was navigating his way
through snow, many of us farther south were dizzy from the heat, slogging
in dry sand on the lookout for water. Just goes to show the astonishing
variety of the PCT and the El Nino/La Nina weather too, I guess...
