Denatured Alcohol is normally available at paint stores and/or hardware stores. I have used the brand name PACO Solvent for years which normally comes in a green can. It is most commonly used as a stove fuel and shellac thinner but can also be used for metal and window cleaning. It is available in one gallon and one quart sizes. There have been several stoves (and torches) over the years which used denatured alcohol including one by Optimus which was self contained in a square metal blue case about 4 x 4 x 2 inches with cylindrical fuel tank laying sideways in the front. These stoves were deemed safer in that the denatured alcohol is less volatile than gas although it is still flamable. This particular stove had a pump on the tank for priming, a typical Optimus burner and worked quite well.
