Re: [pct-l] Bears, mules

I apologise for bringing religion on this list. . . but . . .I can't let someone
appealing to the Bible as a justification for killing bears pass! Sorry.

First, the Bible deals with man's relationship to God and to man's relationship
to each other. It does not deal with mankind dealing with the world or the
animals in it. Looking for answers about bears in the Bible is like looking in a
Spanish food cookbook to learn Spanish.

Second, the Bible declares that the glory of God is evident in His creation [see
note]. I think most of us who hike would agree with that whatever our religion
is, or is not. So where does the Bible give us the right to distroy "God's
Glory"?

Note: I am using creation in the larger sense here. This is not a creationist
verses evolutionist statement. Not all "Bible believers" take the Bible past
where it was meant to go [into Geology, Physics or environmental issues].
