[pct-l] Barrel Springs Water

Hikers,

Someone on the PCT-List mentioned the other day that Barrel Spring Map A-13
was running slowly (or something like that -- I forget their exact words).

I was there on Monday 3/22 and checked. The good news is: Barrel Springs is
running freely and the trough is FULL and running out the overflow pipe. Even
the water in the tank looked "clear" (as always, water from sources such as
this one should be treated before drinking) although the previous "poster"
said it looked pretty bad. 

"Pretty good" and "pretty bad" are relative terms. When you reach Golden Oaks
Spring Map F-4 north of Mojave, you'll remember Barrel Spring fondly as being
"pretty good."

The bad news is: This is as good as it gets at Barrel Springs. But ... have no
fear! There is plenty of water; treat and drink.
