What are the conditions in the Sierras (JMT) in August and September? When do the
first snows arrive on the PCT in general?

-- I went up to Lassen National Park with a PCT list lurker over the weekend and
found completely crappy conditions. It was raining! The storm probably knocked two
feet off the snowpack, however.
