When wearing a new pair of boots for the first half dozen times out on
the trail, invariably I've  developed blisters on one or both heels
especially when hiking a route with plenty of climbing.

But since using duct tape on my heels, I've had no problem with blisters.
That said, I'll probably continue to use the tape even after the boots are
broken in.
