Not to discourage the person with the dog, enlight of the cholla, but
Charlie Jones, hit it right-on. Its the little barbs that can get ya (and
your dog). Sometimes the part that easily detaches from the plant may be
golf ball in size, but often, what's on the ground includes the tiny tip of
the branch, about the size of a very small button and attached to this is
maybe 3 or 4 of the inch or less, long barbs. These are the ones that
you'll want to keep a carefull watch on dog's paws for, as well as being
sure they are clear where you intend to set-up your tent.
