[pct-l] cheap ripstop nylon

Hey all you old do-it-yourselfers, You can get good cheap 1.5 oz. ripstop
nylon at most any army, navy surplus stores in the form of old parchutes. 20
dollars for small chuts to 35 bucks for larger ones. Good for home made tarps,
pack covers and tents. Just buy niwax waterproofing for tents or go with cheap
old thompson,s waterseal to waterproof. And remember, people who hiked the PCT
in 1977 or before are better hikers and known more about anything! All the
gear I used on the trip was great and perfect. Anything else used by others
was of poor choice and they should consider themselves lucky to have lived!
