Desert hiking in '97, a fairly normal rainfall year, was a unique experience
for us.  Wouldn't have missed it -- learned a lot -- and there are definitely
parts I want to do again.  Too many great memories to start listing them here.

Also, if you want to do the PCT, this is part of it.  One great attraction of
the PCT is the variety of experience.  Why eat the ice cream without the pie?
