[pct-l] Maps

The USGS also offers 1:500,000 scale maps of 
1) Southern Calif
2) Northern Calif
3) Oregon and 
4) Washington

at about $12 per (at last check).  These are huge maps for planning
purposes only.  I thought that I would mention it though as they are great
for overall planning and show topography, roads, park and wilderness
boundaries and major features.  I still have mine and have used them so
often in putting the overall relation of different areas in perspective
that I recently purchased north and south California again to piece
together and frame a complete map of the entire Sierra's.  I have searched
for a single large size map of the Sierra's for years and have come to this
solution as the only one.  It will be a great planning map.
