Makes sense to me!!! I will take an axe as well but certainly use 6
point crampons. Light weight and make all the difference in the world on
a steep icy slope. I have opted to stay with my long, 10-year-old REI
axe. Haven't weighed it but know it isn't light! Has worked great on all
7 continents and it isn't in the budget to buy a new one when my old one
may be ugly and beat up and heavy but works great!
