Probably 10 years ago, a young aquaintence of mine decided to do a John Muir
within in the boundaries of Yosemite. He was within two days of the valley, when
he camped with a couple he had met on the trail. His sole provisions consisted of
a water bottle and a loaf of Wonderbread. (I didn't say he was particularly
brilliant, but he was certainly enthusiastic) He was not carrying a tent of his
own, so the couple allowed him to sleep with his head covered by their vestible.
He woke during the night with the bear's face within inches of his own, and the
polka dotted wrapper half hidden by bear lips. He screamed, the bear freaked, and
dropped the remainder of the loaf as he tore off into the dark.

According to this person, the loaf was well-drooled upon, and for all intents and
purposes inedible.
