[I'm playing along with this here] If you have $$$, the above is No
Problem, yes? Pay _me_ enough, Tom, and I'll "wait around" (with a juicy
novel, a box of bon bons and the appropriate quantity of sunblock) with
your groceries- for quite a long time, with my meter ticking 'natch. Oh,
I'll need a 4WD vehicle, too; could I get the one with the Ralph Lauren
interior, puleeeeze?

Horreur, Charlie! Hand me the smelling salts! ____'s gonna report me
to a "superior" (is there such?<g>) for mentioning that some thruhiker
set up an off-season drop in a _bear-box_! (You can't get much more
already-impacted than those steel "coffins", and the critter-problem is
nil, but apparently such a thing is Very Bad Form, tsk, tsk....) bj

All kidding aside, you story about the husband/wife team on the AT was
heart-warming, thanks for sharing it. Undoubtedly there are as many
different logistical-solutions for safe-and-sane distance walking as
there are individuals on the route! bj
