So what's wrong with being a "Geritol?" Not all Geritols hire packers to carry
their food and gear along the PCT. Some actually look like 'real backpackers'
and carry their own gear and supplies. Sure, some of us have gray hair and we
may only hike 10-12 miles a day, but we'll enjoy the trip just as much.

On the more positive side, that's also a time when we Geritols have an almost
unlimited amount of time to hike on the PCT. So maybe I (we) won't hike it all
in one year; who cares? If I (we) don't, why should anyone else? Let's hear it
for the section-hiking Geritols. <grin>
