[pct-l] re: Town Stops

Jeff,

We did the same in '75, only we went to the Sahara instead of Harrah's. We
walked right into the casino, grubby and stinky with our backpacks, and the
bouncer immediately started to escort us out. However, he was a nice guy once
we told him we were going to stay to eat. Some nice folks at the desk checked
our backpacks, we washed up in the bathroom and headed for the buffet. It was
and still is the biggest meal I have ever eaten, all for $5. Our waitress, who
we tipped quite well, was thrilled to see a couple of guys who ate everything
on their plates, several times, instead of the usual picky tourists. I thought
they were going to kick us out just to get us out of there; we left when they
closed the door several hours later.
We stumbled to a campground on the lake at midnight and slept in late. When
we woke, we both looked at each other and at the same time exclaimed "I'm
hungry - how 'bout you?!"
