[pct-l] flexibility

Don't forget that you can change your mind at any time along the trail. Any
decisions you make about rain gear, sleeping pads, shoes etc. are not set
in stone. If you take a Thermarest and find it weighs too much or gets
holes then send it home and get a ridge-rest. If the ridge-rest is not
comfortable enough send it home and get the Thermarest. You'll be out there
for a long time, after a month into the trip you'll most likely have a
solid outfit that is right for you. My recommendation is to not buy any new
gear, take what you already have and instead focus on a varied menu. You'll
have plenty of time to see what gear other people are using on the trail
and then be able to adjust your outfit accordingly.
