actually propane sinks in air and pools together in low spots.....thats why
it doesn't explode....oxygen has to be mixed in for it to explode....it will
explode if you stir it up in the air (like what would happen if you had a
leak in your house or trailer)

white gas fumes mix in with the air much easier and therefore explode more
readily

some more light shining somewhere :-)
