It's great to see so many people planning a PCT through-hike for 1999. 

Just a reminder; when each of you finishes your through-hike next year, be
sure and notify the PCTA so they can issue you a Certificate. You will have
earned it and it'll be great to show to your grandchildren someday. 

Note that it is not necessary to do a "through-hike" to earn a certificate;
having hiked or ridden (horseback) the entire PCT (in one to xx years) also
qualifies you for the honor.

Also, if you finished hiking or riding the PCT in 1998 and have NOT notified
the PCTA of your completion, please give them a call. They need the
information for their records and you'll still get your certificate.
