I'm doing only the California section so my pace will be slower than you
and will proably start a bit later (although I'm not sure of that yet).
So we may not see one another but we'll be on the trail at the same
time, and that's worth connecting about. :-) I plan to finish the PCT in
200, and like you, want to do other trails as well. I'm a late-life
outdorrs person, starting only at 40, and my background is in
mountaineering rather than backpacking so this will be a whole new deal
for me. I'm as excited about it as I have been about preparing for big
mountains, and at 50, thru hiking seems to hold as much passionate
appeals as international climbing did at 40. A sweet place to be. I wish
you well on your through hike, and perhaps our paths will cross in some
way we can't imagine.
