I have used several stoves over the years: at least two Peaks, two
MSRs, a Hank Roberts, a Svea, a Primus, and another whose name I
cannot remember. The Whisperlight and other MSR stoves seem to me
to be modestly lighter than the Peak stoves. They are also reliable
and powerful. Simmering is a weakness. At the moment I am using a
Peak. I often boil water twice for dinner and the Peak does not
need to be primed. I cannot speak to the reliablility of any of
these on a long trip.
