Re: [pct-l] Introductions ---

Hi,
I'm new to this list.My experiance in wood started when I was 2 years old.
My family went camping in Kings Canyon, and when we came home my parents
had to leave me outside or I would cry. We returned every year till I was
about 11. I have hiked the Rae Lakes Loop several times and other areas in
Kings Canyon. I was in the Scouts and our biggest outings were a 50 mile
canoe trip, and Grand Canyon Rim to Rim. After I graduated High school I
didn't do much camping after that.
Now my kids are older, and I hit 40, and have desided to start back and let
my youngest child, now 3, know that there is more to life than the city. I
am going to hike the JMT next summer as a first. Then section hike the PCT,
and see where it takes me.
I never used a tarp before and will give it a try. Any advice will be
accepted on the use of a tarp, or any other pointers that would seem
relivant, or equipment improvements. I am forced to replace everything I
used before. Except my Kelty pack.
It may be 25 years old but still feels good.

Dave
