[pct-l] Re: Dogs
I just want to point out that horses are alowed in the parks and anyone who
has been on this list for a while knows how many hikers are bothered by their
presence. And who would do more damage, a horse or a dog? Also canines are
native to North America and animals should be afraid of them for their own
safety. So what I would be interested in knowing is why a native species is
banned from parks while non-native species are welcome? I do strongly believe
that some people should keep their dogs at home but if it is well behaved and
hiker friendly I don't see any problem.

P.S. If a dog is not having a good time on the trail, his or her human
companion will notice this and I can't imagine them being selfish enough to
keep going without doing something about it.
