Re: [pct-l] Lightweight Packs

Not exactly
My sample is not one. It is the number of incidents that I have recorded.
True, I am a single recorder and how I record the incidents may be biased
but the result is data, not opineon.

Again, what you say is not at variance with what I say. You say you have
hiked and never lost your food. I agree. This happens to many people. You
say you remember only a few instances where the bears were involved. This
is my experience also. Most of the time a bear doesn't show up. I calculate
97% which is certainly "most of the time". We don't disagree on any of
this.

My question: How many times have you seen/heard a counterbalance system
defeat a bear vs how many times have you seen/heard a counterbalance system
defeat a bear vs how many times have you seen/heard of a bear defeating a
counterbalancing system and stealing [earning] the food?
My experience is:
Counterbalance 0%
Delay 20%
Bears 80%
This is data based on multiple stories. I suspect you could reconstruct
similer data from your memories. What is it?
