Have any thru-hikers reached Vermilion Valley Resort yet?
Heck, have YOU and PEGGY reached VVR yet (other than by snowmobile)? :^)
Any news from anyone?
Charlie Jones
Charlie,
No news yet. We are plowing the road now and expect access to Edison
Lake by 6/12 or close. I have a trailer at the resort stocked with bear
canisters full of food and propane for heat and light for several days
with a note on the door to hikers to use as needed. There is also white
gas and Gaz canisters. We recieved about 2 1/2" of rain here at the
ranch Saturday night (1200' elv) and the snow level from what I can find
out was above 10,000' That should help the melt a bunch. The snow on
Friday 6/5 was about 9' at 9000' We have received 5 packages from some
very optimistic PCT hikers. Any further information I'll send in.
Thanks
Butch Wiggs
