[pct-l] filtering

Howdy!
I'm new to the list and am south-hiking the northern part of the PCT
this summer. I would appreciate y'alls vast expertise on the subject of
water on the Crest. How likely is it to stay away from crypto without
filtering? One of my buddies isn't going to filter, but just use Polar
Pure for giardia. He thru-hiked the A.T. this way without problems. How
risky do y'all think that is on the Crest?
