[pct-l] Re: Alternative Stove

My friend and I used the "alternative stove" on the John Muir Trail last
summer. We were very satisfied with it. The pros were boiling time was very
fast and the stove was very easy to use. Also carrying the stove was easy, as
it is very small. The fuel is somewhat heavy, but is compact. We did not run
into windy conditions and had no problems getting the stove going. We used
less fuel than we planned on and did carry much more fuel than we needed.

I don't know if it would be wise for a longer hike like the PCT due to
difficulty in getting the tablets. I have only seen them at a surplus store.
