Tahoe-Yosemite Trail are separate trails, but I have heard from others
that they are the same. Does anyone have any information about this? <<<
the pct and tyt are coincident on the northern and southern ends, that is,
in the desolation wilderness (and on south to carson pass) and in yosemite.
between the two, the tyt runs parallel to the pct, off the crest to the
west a few miles. i think it is a great trail, very different from the pct
(when it's not the pct!). easier to resupply because it takes you thru 3
"resort" areas, echo lake, alpine lake, and kennedy meadows (be very
careful on rte 108, it is windy and dangerous, no shoulder, suggest a hitch).
