Subject: [pct-l] GPS on the PCT
Has any one hiked the PCT with a handheld Global
Positioning System?
Are they a good idea for the trail? I would like to hear pros & cons on
this subject.

I don't know why you'd want to. What would you use it for? A compass weighs
1 oz and doesn't require batteries. You will have the guide book topo maps
anyways. Sounds like a lot of weight and hassle to me. GPS's are great, but
not on a thru-hike, IMO.
