[pct-l] Bay Tree Spring



  Duh! I keep forgetting to pass this on:
  Last week "they" (Idyllwild Water District?) did one of their routine
testings on Bay Tree spring (the normally-"pure", really-good-tasting
source off Highway #74 in the San Jacintos) and determined there were
Unacceptable Levels of E. coli. (negative for the other stuff, I'm pretty
sure...). This is undoubtedly because of the high water table/ heavy
runoff from the March storms. This situation may apply to similar springs
in the area (which aren't usually tested)...
  Re-testing is due early May, & I betcha (unless the rains continue -
which they are today :-)) - the water then will test to its usual safety.
