Good question. I handled my cash through ATMs last year and didn't
have too many problems. I don't know about Idylwild or Writewood since
I didn't stop there but I'd expect both of them have ATMs. Big Bear,
Mojave, Yosemite Valley (not Tuolomne Meadows), South Lake Tahoe,
Quincy (near Belden), Dunsmuir (near Castella), and Timberline Lodge
all have ATMs. There are others but that's all I can remember off the
top of my head.
