[pct-l] tidbit about south lake tahoe
nice lists about towns, guys. thanks for doing all the legwork!
one tidbit about southlaketahoe, though.
alyssa and i got to echo lake on 4TH OF JULY and called the hotel that is
supposed to transport hikers from echo lake to their place (the business
card is up everywhere around there) and the going rate for a couple of
hikers for that weekend was 125$ a night. VERY BIG SHOCK after hearing
what others had paid. so don't plan on much during the 4th weekend. you'd
do better to be in the woods.
however, we did climb up the mountain next to echo lake with all the locals
and watch the fireworks off of tahoe--in three different places! that was
nice.
