[pct-l] Re: Mailing Lead Times

It's always fun, and sometimes justified, to prod the snail-mail.org,
but in this case I think most will agree, parcel post is the tool for the
job.

This morning, I took a 26 lb care package to the PO and found the
PO-person to be most helpful. He asked whether I wanted to send it cheapest
way. I explained the situation and was assured it could go parcel post and
get there in less than two weeks. (About five days in most cases.)

Standard mail (parcel post) rate to zone 4 was $7.81. I was given a
rate chart and a zone chart so I could know what to expect for future
mailings. I also received
sincere best wishes for a great trip! For the record, this service was
extended by Los Altos 94022.

Son and I are starting from Campo on May 4th or 5th. Hope our trails
will cross out there. Y'all have a super trip!

Sincerely, TrailDad
