I used a Sweetwater filter on the Tahoe-Yosemite trail (south bound-1994)
and had the piston break 1/2 way through the trip--an unrecoverable break.
Every PCT group that we ran into that had a Sweetwater had problems that
year. When I returned the filter to Marmot Mtn., I was #49 out of 50 to
return them that summer. I've heard that they have strengthened some of
the stress points..? I've been very happy with the Pur Hiker -- no iodine
taste.
