[pct-l] snow depths



just checked the snow conditions for calif. drainages, and here are some
depth reports (*depth* is snow depth, in inches, and *%* is percent of
april 1 water content)for areas along the PCT that i am familiar with:

sorry, i'm not too familiar with pct place names south of bishop.

it was an extremely dry february, and march so far has been dry and quite
warm.  i was backcountry skiing around mt reba on saturday, temps were in
the 50s, beautiful corn snow.  it is melting fast.  barring a couple heavy
late storms, the snow in the high sierra for you thruhikers shouldn't be
any worse than "normal", whatever that is.

i'll check again around the beginning of april.
