[pct-l] Re: pct-l-digest V1 #74

Mike,

I've notice there are two types of Tyvek (colors), a grey and a white.
I understand Tyvek is a breathable material (similar to Gore-tex). Does
it or will it keep moisture from penetrating.? Or will it allow vapor to pass
thru while acting as an air screen.?
What's the difference between the grey and white.? There's another
brand type with a similar name Tveck (sp.?) is it also Du Pont.?

Tried the JMT (N->S) late Sept 95, had to bail out at Donohue Pass
(down Rush Creek), gashed my leg bad enough to need medical attention.
Have the JMT on the plate for 99... Also note this year the snow pack is
running above normal (95 was high also), even in late in the year you may
hit a lot of deep snowpack in the passes. Check with Bill Wiggs at the
Vermillion Ranch (he logs into this List, I don't have his e-address).

   take care,
