Hello.
My name is Bob Mitchell. I've decided to thru hike Oregon this summer.
It may just lead to a longer hike next year. There is a small chance
of tagging on Washington if I decide on July and northbound but I'm not
quite sure how to bring up my need for infinite vacation time with my
boss.
I'm looking for other people planning on hiking just Oregon and/or Washington
this summer to trade information. If you've done these sections the last
couple of summers, I'd love to hear advice (like when is best in order to
avoid the snow and drought, where are the bugs the worst and what works to
avoid them, etc.)
I used to live in Hood River (20 miles East of Cascade Locks.) I've
hiked around Mt. Hood twice. I'm now in San Diego and plan on doing
some training treks on the PCT here.
Cheers,
bob
