I just received my ULA "Circuit", A 2-pound pack.
I haven't been able to take it out on a trip yet, but I can offer the
following comments on it:
It fits all my gear! At 3,700 C.I., that's quite an accomplishment!
(even enough left over room to pack an oilcan!)
It's even more comfortable than my expedition pack, either from the
4-pound weight difference, or the very well tailored shoulder and hip
belts. Actually, the hip belt is cushy-er and easier to cinch down than
my REI pack. And the hip belt forms better to my hips than my REI belt.
Oh- and the chest strap fits WAY better than my REI pack's chest strap
(my REI strap rides too high, the ULA strap rides about 2/3 up my Pecs)
The fabric is more durable than what I expected. For a 2-pound pack, I
expected a very delicate fabric. From what I've seen, the pack, though
not "bomber", appears to be very tough (including the mesh).
Also, the Circuit is the smallest pack Brain makes with a "frame". I
couldn't get myself to "go rucksack". As stated above, all my gear fits
into it. But after all is fitted in (some careful thinking is involved
when packing the Circuit - but it all fits!), the pack is rigid enough
to support itself. Though again, I haven't walked with it yet. I imagine
I'll be thankful for the additional suspension.
I'm dying to take this pack out on it's maiden journey. All-in-all, I'm
very impressed with it. It's a no-frills, get-er-done, elegance in
simplicity kind of pack.
I don't think Jerry's outfit has gotten any reviews on the Circuit yet.
I encourage everyone to take a close look at this pack!

I am currently using a Gregory Keeler pack at 5 1/2 pounds. I'm going to
downsize to a pack in the 2 pound range. Please give me your favorite 2
lb pack name and I will research it at "gear test". I really appreciate
your input.
