[pct-l] More on June hikes...

Hey Bonk....

There were about 15 of us hikers who headed south from the Canadian border thru Washington State last June. We left Canada on June 15. Last year was an ABNORMALLY LOW snow year. On a normal snow year, the trail would have been totally choked with snow and navigation would have been extremely difficult without the use of a GPS.

The weather was crappy. period. crappy. Rain, rain, rain, rain, and more rain. Typically summer doesn't arrive in Washington until the middle of July.

The mosquitos were out in force.

I've answered your questions here, and you may think that I didn't enjoy being out in all that crappy and mosquito infested trail in June.... but I really did enjoy it.

Thanks to all who answered my question. It seems the Sierras get the
consensus vote.

But... I would like to know if anyone has ever been on the PCT in OR or
WA in June, and what the conditions were like. Too mush snow? Too many
mosquitoes/flies? Crappy unpredictable weather?

I'm trying to settle this dispute between my hiking partner (read wife)
and I about starting points!

Thanks again,

Bonk
