[pct-l] Class of '05: ADZPCTKO Contribution...

What about doing some sort of lunch on Friday and/or Saturday? They've already got the grills and everything there. It seems to me that hot dogs and potato chips would be easy to serve, and there ain't nuthin' in the way of food during the day at the campground.

Does the Class of 2005 have a Yahoo! group? If I remember correctly, Freefall and the rest of F-Troop kicked around the idea of the pancake breakfast on the 2003 Yahoo! group, and then provided the pancakes word-of-mouth at the 2004 Kickoff. It worked out well and got even bigger in 2005.

Try the 2005 Yahoo! group. I bet you'll get a lot of volunteers to help put together a "Class of 2005" lunch!

Well, I think you may be stretching it a little. Although this is still
in it's infancy stage as an idea, this would be only the second
"freebie" offered in the last 5 years. Don't you think it should be left
up to the judgement of the individual hikers if they wish to carry an
additional few grams of weight? Hell, they might not even want one, to
each his own. As I previously stated, I would be willing to mail it to
their home if they didn't want to take it with them. The only reason we,
as a class, are exploring this idea is because we have evidently been
locked out of serving the two customary class served meals- I was told
the classes of '03, and '04, will be doing repeat performances.

I understand that you are the head of the committee for the kickoff, and
anything provided will need you, and the committees, approval. We are
having a hard time coming up with anything original, and this idea is
already receiving favorable feedback. It's like you said, "Great idea!".
Lets leave it at that.

regards,

Nickel
