[pct-l] Jets and the PCT

In the autumn of 1994 I was working as a civilian contractor at the military antenna farm at the north end of Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska. We were at the north end of the runway but off to the side about a half mile. I was up on a section of tower at about forty feet when I heard a pop pop pop pop sound. I turned to the source of the sound and first heard a huge bass note frooomp! then saw a gigantic, perfect ball of fire form. It was so hot I could feel the heat that far away.

Turned out that geese got sucked into both of the port side engines of a Boeing 707 AWAC (the plane with the radar mushroom thing on top). The plane crash landed on take off with a full load of fuel and 16 people on board totally destroying the plane and killing everyone. I never want to see anything like that again.

A hard piece of granite would probably cause a massive
explosion. You probably wouldn't want to be within
1000 ft of that hell storm. I actually seem to recall
hearing a story a few years ago about some geese that
got sucked up into someones small jet engine. The
engine jammed and exploded. I guess the geese were
fanatics about human invasion of their air space,
kamikaze goose.

who loves geese and rocks, and really wants to take a
ride in a fighter jet.
