Check out a Kelty Scout for $50 online at campmor.com. 3.5 lbs, 3850 ci
and an EXTERNAL frame back designed for torsos up to 17" and overall body
height of 5'8". The pack normally retails for $90. I realize most people
like internal frames or no frames, but externals are cooler and this
weight and size is perfect for longer hikes. GEO
