[pct-l] Gear, what else??

I just ordered some hiking shoes, Dunham Waffle Stomper Terrastryder mid height, light weight . Campmor has them on sale for $69.97, regular price is $120. They had a very good selection of sizes yet last night if anyone is interested. I also got a couple of pairs from the New Balance site, NB Web Express. One was a mesh shoe that is supposed to be good for hot weather, the other a mid high shoe. Both of these use numbers like New Balance even though they are listed as Dunhams (same company). They are 905 and 906 and use the Nimble name. All 3 pairs are built on the same SL-1 last, as are the New Balance 905 and 906. The Dunhams are listed as hiking shoes where the NBs are off road running shoes. They seem to be very similar construction, but the Dunhams have a gusseted tongue to keep sand out and are 1.7 oz. heavier. They have a good selection of the Dunhams, only size 6-9.5 of the NB 906s, no NB 905s. The NB 907 is the current model.

I also decide to try a poncho and gaiters, rather that a rain coat, and will use it as a ground sheet too.

Pocketmail has their $50 version available again, has the same email functions as the $100 model but not the calculator and memo, and less memory. http://www.pocketmail.com/us/products/pm_features_pm32/

I just updated my gear list on the PCT2006 site.
