[pct-l] Long pants & sleeves

Yup, well past mt hood by then. I'm afraid our journal isn't at
trailjournals - i prefer the 'section' structure like Suge's journal (which
was the best I've read) rather than the daily structure of TJ, so when I get
round to it, I'll put it up on our homepage with the photos.

It's the sweat rather than the washing that breaks down permethrin, so the
manufacturer might be totally honest (kinda like mineral water advertising
itself as fat free - honest, but irrelevant). There's an enzyme on our skin
(thus released with sweat) that breaks down permethrin hence why its no good
to spray it on yourself for a bug repellent. As a result of this I suspect
that washing is actually good for it as it gets rid of the sweat. Washing
and thru-hiking have a low correlation :-)

Of course, you could just leave early in a high snow year. No bugs at all
that way; ,my $40 on permethrin was wasted.

Dave

PS Yankee English? Tautology methinks... :-)
