I would have to agree with Mags on this point. In my opinion it is important to remember that the comments were made by someone that was interested in setting a speed record on the PCT, and trail markings were very important to him to ensure that he had minimal delays. For me, this isn't what the wilderness experience is all about. I am looking forward to using my navigational skills while on the PCT this next year. If I wanted a route that was flagged or marked at every possible junction, I would stay in the car and take I-5 between Mexico and Canada.
